What is dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a non-invasive, safe and simple procedure for exfoliating the epidermis and ridding the skin of fine vellus hair. (aka peach fuss) Using a scalpel and a delicate touch, the surface of the skin is abraded with light feather strokes. Excess vellus hair may cause a build up of dirt and oil in the follicles, so removing the hair and dead cells gives the client heathier smooth looking skin. Products will penetrate better and make up will wear more smoothly and evenly as well. Contrary to popular belief, the vellus hair will grow back the same rate and texture as before the dermaplaning treatment. This is a good choice for pregnant or nursing women who want a deep exfoliation but are not allowed to use chemical or peeling agents.
